From an early age I loved to read. As a child I was bought an Enid Blyton book every other week. Heaven! And here's just one from my collection. I’m quite proud that most of them are still in excellent condition, like brand new.

Bimbo and Topsy was my first one but unfortunately, I've scribbled my name all over the first few pages, something I've grown out of, thank goodness!

My love of books continues to this day.  Occasionally I read an ebook, mostly non-fiction, but like many other bibliophiles, I love the actual feel of a book – the weight of it, the smell of it! And if it happens to be a gorgeously decorated hard backed copy, so much the better.

Without really intending to, I’ve become something of a book collector.

I love the simplicity of the design of Persephone Books. I only have 3 in my collection but hope to add many more from the 150 currently available.

The Folio Society produces the most beautiful books. They’re not cheap so it’s a slow growing collection but with silk covers, slip cases and gorgeous illustrations, they are most definitely worth it and deserve to be treasured.

I’m also fascinated by antique books. Among my small collection is one with an inscription dated 1850 – the fact that this book has survived over 170 years is absolutely incredible. And I particularly love those books that offer advice for women – totally unacceptable today but they do make interesting reading – an insight into a bygone era and sometimes quite amusing too!

At the beginning of 1999 I began writing, but it wasn't until the summer of 2012, that I self-published my first ebook to Amazon – The Beach Hut.

My first publishing success was to have some short stories accepted by The People’s Friend magazine.

I remember being totally thrilled at the time!

A few years later, once I’d got the hang of marketing and advertising, my book - The Beach Hut - hit number one on the Kindle Top Free 100 Books.

I’m a real home-lover. My home is my sanctuary and I enjoy being creative in making it the special place it is. I like to have fresh flowers and candles around, and together with cosy furnishings help to create a warm and welcoming feel. And of course, lots of books everywhere!

I have a rather eclectic collection of hobbies and interests. I love fancy ink and fountain pens, acorns, country walks, and reading old cookery books.   And I have a curious desire to make my own butter one day!

Tea! I’m a dedicated tea-drinker! And I'm hoping, sometime in the not too distant future,  to study on the certified Tea Champion course run by the UK Tea Academy.

  My Story...

I now have 15 ebooks published, most of which are also available in paperback. My mind is brimming with ideas for more stories.

I find inspiration just about everywhere - everyone’s life is a story; unfolding chapter by chapter, day by day, year after year.

I aim to create emotionally feel-good stories that hopefully absorb the reader into someone else’s world at least for a little while.
