Inspiration for writing this book:
I wanted to write a 'summer' book. Personally, I like to read in season - summery books in the summer, wintery books in the winter!
I lived on the beautiful island of Cyprus for two years so I have firsthand experience of Greek Cypriot hospitality as well as the mediterranean temperatures.

Mansfield Park - Jane Austen
The year 2025 celebrates 250 years since the birth of Jane Austen.
And as such, it seems appropriate to read at least one of her novels this year.
I'm about a third of the way through and am finding it an enjoyable, thought-provoking read. Not as light and witty as some of her other novels, Mansfield Park is a complex, multilayered work, with an endearing plot and delightful prose.

The story continues with the three sisters Gina, Emmeline and Florrie and follows what they get up to on the Greek island of Samos.
